Objectives

  • To carry out and promote demographic research from an interdisciplinary perspective.

 

  • To contribute to current research on mortality, longevity and population health.

 

  • To promote research in new fields associated with the interrelationship of gender and demography throughout the human life cycle, mainly with respect to ageing, mortality, longevity and health.

 

  • To promote training in socio-demographic analysis and disseminate the results obtained.

 

  • To participate in national and international teaching and research networks.

 

  • To provide information supporting the implementation of potential public policies that accommodate the needs of elderly people.

 

  • To educate the population regarding the causes and consequences of population ageing, paying special attention to age discrimination.
